In 2014, he got selected for the Under-19 World Cup due to consistent performances at the Indian domestic levels. But the tournament did not help him to gain recognition due to his poor performance for the team. That is why, after that, he joined the Trent Bridge team in England to polish his skills. England pitches are usually quite difficult to bat on because of extreme swing, bounce and cold weather. There he made sure that everyone’s attention was glued to him. After his stellar performances in England, he got directly selected into the Mumbai senior squad at the Vijay Hazare Trophy and thus he made his First-Class debut in 2014. In his first match as a captain, he scored an unbeaten knock of 93 from just 40 balls which includes 10 sixes.
